Italy and Switzerland, March-April 1994
Trip to Italia! 3/27/94 - 4/8/94. 3/27 - Detroit airport. Exhausted and stiff neck (hot pad!. 3/28 - arrive Frankfurt, to Munich. Get KBH and 102ºF fever; 3/29 - LLH still weak, drive Munich through Brenner Pass to Italy; German lake and chapel.
3/29 - Verona. Choose hotel with a parking space(!), then go for lovely evening stroll; KBH (aka Switzerland) is amused by Dad's readings & recitations.
3/30 - Walk to arena.

Juliet's House (?); Old Roman bridge.
Watch body fished out, then on to Roman amphitheatre.
Then to gardens.
Palace Museum.
St. Zeno's Romanesque church; 3/30 - Last evening in Verona, dinner near arena.
Vincenza - Palladian city - 3/31/94
Outside Vicenza. then through hills cum villas to Este, and on Appenine Ridge to Firenze!
4/1/94 - Irma walks us to bus stop to go tour Firenze!
Bruneleschi, architect, gazes at his Duomo.
Then off to the Accademia.
The Uffizi.

4/1 - Good Friday at Santa Croce.
Flowers for Irma.
4/2/94 - Holy Saturday tracing Piero Della Francesca first to Arezzo, also Market Day (rain & shine!)
Then to Monterchi Madonna, San Sepolcro; Across Appenines to Urbino.
Urbino.
Atop Urbino, then to coast, to Bologna, to Firenze. 4/3/94 - Easter Sunday, Jack and I go to Protestant Church, then to Omero's; Jack in a door! Galileo Villa, Omero's neighbor
Omero's, an old favorite.
4/4/94 - Cortona (Pasqueta), Etruscan town.
Then to Assisi to visit Mark Balma (fresco painter) & family.

San Marco. Tuesday, April 5 - last day in Florence.
4/6, Wednesday - Leave Irma's and drive north; Genoa.
Switzerland.
Lovely hotel in Bad Krozingen.
