Mar 26: Everglades City. We get drenched so Janice and I head to a laundromat to dry our duds. We stop by the historic Rod and Gun Club...a. sentimental favorite from the get go.
Apr 4: Easter with the usual fashion show, church at St Olaf and brunch at the Minneapolis Club (with the Ranheims).
Tori and Meagan Hoeschler join us. Afterwards we retreat to Edgcumbe where Caitlin Hill joins us on the deck.

Apr 13: Meagan Hoeschler is 27; we join her and her friends for a pleasant dinner. April 8: Jack O'Brien's first group Suzuki recital...the launch of a fine career!

May 9: Mother's Day and a joyful clutch of bluebird eggs! May 15: Glacier Fest in downtown St. Paul (Jack O'B gets another Ranger badge!).
We head to NYC with Jack O'B for Memorial Day weekend. May 28: top of Empire State Building where guard warns Jack O'B is too close to the edge (well screened). (In 1966 Jack Hoeschler tossed my engagement ring in my salad in the ground floor restaurant), Staten Island Ferry ride where Papa provides ongoing history and geograph commentary; both living and historic Statues of Liberty.
Sights in the Battery and uptown.
Balto: We successfully search for and find his statue in Central Park. Then off to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Rockefeller Center and St Patrick's Cathedral.
Bus tour of Manhattan. Visit to the Plaza. We then take the train north to stay with Steve and Sonja Lovas in Pound Ridge. Sunday, May 30 we visit cousin Peter Prevelige in Fairfield, CT then drive to Thornwood (Westchester) to celebrate Aunt Helen Marie Wederquist Nelligan's 90th birthday!

June 3: William O'Brien is 2! We shuttle him to a neighborhood party on Montcalm Place.
Jun 6: cabin with darling Jack O'Brien. Jun 9-13: We travel to St. Louis & Louisville with Alan and Cecily Morse. Jun 10: morning tour of Grant's Farm, Grantwood.

Aug 6: Boy Scout reunion in Galesville, WI. (Jack was camp counselor as a young teen). Delightful lawn party at Jay & Judy's. Katie, Nick and Judy. Terry and Jack. William, Jay and JGH.

Aug 13: Central HS 50th reunion in La Crosse at Bobby John's. Aug 15: World Press Institute reception at cabin. Reuben Ristrom serenades us on banjo and guitar. (JGH is WPI board.)
WPI party. Aug 18:We drive to Baraboo, WI. and first visit a large cat care center.
We spend most of a delightful day at the Circus World Museum, Baraboo. Baraboo was the winter home of Ringling Brothers Circus folk.
We travel on to Devil's Lake where JGH's family used to picnic. Madison, WI: U of W campus jocks. (LLH has a Great Lakes board meeting there.)
Children's Museum in Madison. After LLH board meeting we head south to the remarkable Anderson Japanese Garden in, Rockford, IL. From there we drive down the Rock River to the Quad Cities for a Geneseo, IL Johnson family reunion. We stop in Grand Detour, IL with statue of John Deere and iron workshop..

We continue driving up the Mississippi and stop in Dresbach, MN. We stop at Pickwick, MN en route home. Thelma Hunter guides William on piano. Aug 26: we take the boys to the Minnesota State Fair.

Aug 29: David Ranheim is 68 and we celebrate in Stillwater. Hale Allison washes windows to William's delight. Luther Ranheim's park wedding and reception.
Hummingbirds. Sep 16-20: we fly to Boston to join the Porters at the annual Yale-Georgetown football game.
Mid October Bismarck, ND visit with the Northwest Area Foundation (LLH on board).
We tour Native farms, casino, reservations and Tribal Colleges--a marvelous education.

Oct 28: Gloria Voumadi is 3 and we celebrate with our families at Edgcumbe.

We go back to the Field Museum and William is particularly fascinated by the animated dinosaurs; from then on he believes the "real dinosaurs" live in the Field!

Sun Dec 5: Family day at the Chicago Art Institute, always great fun!
Dec 15: Terry is 44 and we enjoy a family dinner with him and his beautiful family. The boys with Dart's wonderful Santa.
Then it's off to NYC and Rockefeller Center with Jack O'Brien.
We take Jack to the opera, ballet and the NY Philharmonic. Before the concert we have dinner with Aaron Kernis, his wife Evelyne, and his children, Jonah and ?

We train up to Steve and Sonja Lovas' home in Pound Ridge. En route the airport, we visit Lorrie and Lou DeSmet in Fairfield, NJ.
