Oct 2, 2003: The Minnesota Commissioning Club charges Conductor and Composer Stanislaw Skrowaczewski to write "Symphony [2003]" dedicated to the late Ken Dayton, supporter of Stan and the Minnesota Orchestra. Very emotional for all. At the post-concert reception in Orchestra Hall, LLH presents Stan's (Skrovy's) birthday cake after the concert. Judy Dayton and the birthday boy. Easter in La Crosse, April 12 (unsure if Janet knows who we are). 4/25: Trip to Geneseo, IL home of many LLH Johnson ancestors. Mid left: Henry Cty courthouse in Cambridge, IL. Nearby Bishop Hill (BH): 19th century Swedish emigrant commune/cult. Our B& B. B.H. Methodist Church. BH restaurant.

Mizpah Cemetery on Geneseo outskirts and in sight of the Johnson farm: Lars Johnson (Carolina's husband) & his 2nd wife, Christina, are buried. Laura Doyle and Helen Marie Wederquist Nelligan.
May 9: Mother's Day at the Gem Lake cabin; Hildur, Mary and Vince Doyle at the table. JGH and Larry Siegel, who also plays piano. KBH and TOB. Jack and LLH return from Morocco--Jack in mufti with TOB. Mother snapper lays eggs.
June 13-14: Trip to LaX. Meet with Janet's caregivers. JGH and Bob Coe, wonderful family friend and retired Trane engineer who oversees staff scheduling and home maintenance. Janet at Dr. Udell's. LLH with Janice & her horse. Sue Motschman funeral reception (Motschmans owned LaX ski hill.)
Jun 30: Loons & 2 chicks; by July 4, only 1 chick. Liz (former staff member of American Composers Forum) & Laura Schmidt Jennings. July 3: we board a barge to greet St. Paul's grand River Fest. Hildur & Jack. KBH and LLH.

July 7: Commissioning Club meeting at our cabin (our summer meeting is usually at Gem Lake). July 18: Surprise 60th birthday party for LLH at Dick & Finette Magnuson's comely barn in WI. Early morning set-up: Karen Lundholm does flowers: KBH & servers.
