Architecture

by David Wagner, Principal, SALA Architects, 2022

To know Jack and Linda is to know their passion for art, home and garden. In 2007 as an early-career architect, I was fortunate to be entrusted by the Hoeschlers to create a modest addition to their Mid-Century, Ralph Rapson designed home. While working on a Rapson house was in itself an honor, my working relationship with Jack and Linda grew to be the greater honor.

Jack and Linda were delightful to work with, approaching our collaboration with a great spirit of discovery. Though we certainly had functional needs to be met and aesthetic goals to achieve, it was their understanding of artistic process and design exploration that made working with them special. Whether commissioning a piece of art, an extension to their garden, or creating architectural space, they bring both trust in the artist as well as their own intellects and scholarship to the partnership.
